Bad Vermillion Lake

These are the lines that lead me. The water of the lake  mingles with the trees on shore. There is a crack in the granite of this Lake. This is where my life began and where I continue to return.

Artist Statement

Grace Wolff

Born and raised in a ghost town in the center of Canada, my art practice is informed by the evolution of form. Throughout my creative process, the physical world transforms into an ethereal realm. Decomposition and impermanence are my inspiration. I utilize all mediums available to me to manifest my vision. Community projects are considered as an alteration of the landscape. Work that changes over time from the erosion of the materials is of particular interest to me. It is a statement on the struggle of humankind to create permanence that intrigues me, as I observe the effect of time and nature on man made constructions.
